Music is a Regular Heartbeat

Hey guys :)

One thing that you'll notice about me, and it will be a frequent topic in this blog, is that I am in love with music. Music is something that I literally NEED to survive, and I'm sure a lot of you can relate to that. Music can speak in ways that the human mind can never accomplish. It can explain your feelings better than your words can. It can take you away from the chaos of this cruel world in a way that a cruise to the Caribbean never will.

I believe that society itself relies on music for self expression. There's expression through clothing, sure, which is a quick window into what a person is like, but today so many people are afraid to break out of the fashion trends to show their personalities. This especially goes for teenagers, and that's why our music means so much to us. As the bullying in school increases, and the "hey, wanna get high/drunk/laid at <insert name here>'s party tonight?" becomes a broken record, the ones who long to not get sucked into the void of peer pressure and self manipulation turn to music as a safe-haven. Thousands, probably millions, of teenagers and young adults, and even preteens and children, blast their music to escape the realm of the pain they experience in school. And older adults, maybe our parents and grandparents, tell us their bully stories from when they were in school, but they don't realize how much things have changed. When they were in school, there was no such thing as "Cyber Bullying"....
